The Bui Power Authority received a novelty centre dubbed the Fred Oware Innovation Center as a community gift. The center supports learning and skill development with a focus on science, technology, and robotics.

The centre includes an ICT and Robotics Laboratory, a Science Laboratory, and a general library. It was commissioned on 21 October 2020 to serve resettlement townships and the wider Banda community.
